A collection of works made in response to field notes written by British surveyor Charles Sturt, whilst on a futile search for an inland sea in 1844 (Australia).

Through a series of actions Carly explores the tension between perpetuating a colonial narrative, poking fun at it and earnestly empathising - by placing a clay dish ontop of a barren dune which was part of a new housing development in South Lake (Perth); filming an oasis-like scene in her backyard by placing a birdbath under a single, suburban palm tree; carrying salt water into a number of lake systems in Perth and thinking about travelling to Lake Disappointment.
